Car, Truck and SUV of the Year announced at 2017 Detroit auto show

DETROIT (WEYI) - The top vehicles of the year were announced Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Taking the top spot for cars was the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt. The Honda Ridgeline won Truck of the Year, while the Chrysler Pacifica from Fiat Chrysler won for best utility vehicle. Meanwhile, a lot of other cars and trucks are being featured at the show. More than 2,000 properties behind on taxes up for sale in Cambria County

JOHNSTOWN -- Out of an estimated 87,000 properties in Cambria County, approximately 12,000 are behind on taxes, and about 2,100 are up for sale. Properties that are two years behind on property taxes are put into the tax sale system, where people can buy them for much cheaper than usual. For instance, at a private sale, which happens four times a year, people buy properties for as little as $200, although they still owe any back taxes in mortgages. Read More...

New brewery headed to downtown Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) – An Indiana, Pa. brewing company is opening a new location in a local downtown area experiencing a rebirth. Levity Brewing Company opened its first brewpub about five years ago. The business was so successful that last year the owners started looking to expand, bringing them to Altoona. “The buzz that we hear is, ‘Oh yeah, Downtown Altoona is coming back,’” said Luke McKelvy, co-owner of Levity Brewing Company.
