Seattle debuts 'protected intersection' to boost pedestrian, cyclist safety

SEATTLE (KOMO) — After seven months of construction, the city of Seattle formally debuted afirst-of-its-kind "protected intersection". "I think the biggest thing is the actual light. There was no light here before," said Seattle resident Harper Ellison as she looked at the new traffic light and painted crosswalks. In November, the city started construction on this "protected intersection" at Dexter Avenue North and Thomas Street in the South Lake Union neighborhood, which was routinely one of the most congested in the city. Despite surge in Covid-19 hospitalizations, PA Health Department maintains low level of concern

As Covid-19 cases soar nationwide, many people are concerned about possible infection. Cambria County has seen 9 Covid-19 hospital admissions this past week. Followed by 6 in Centre county, 9 in Somerset, 9 in Blair, and the highest, 11 in Cameron County. All of this according to CDC data. While these numbers seem to be rising, the Pennsylvania Department of Health told us in a statement that: While the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations have slightly increased over the past few weeks, overall the number of hospitalizations remain low and of a low level of concern. Ex-Johnstown officer and convicted killer, Craig Knepper, reportedly granted parole

Cambria County, PA — A former Johnstown police officer, and current murder convict, Craig Knepper, is reportedly going to be out on parole, according to the family of the victim, Susan Burkhart/Fyock. Knepper pled guilty on Christmas Eve 2002 to avoid a life sentence. In June of that year, police say Knepper got into an argument with Fyock. They say he ended up shooting Fyock once in the leg, and once in the head, killing her. Read More...
