Huntingdon County PRIDE holds annual telethon, auction

Huntingdon County PRIDE is holding its annual telethon and auction starting Wednesday at the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Company.

It's the largest fundraiser of the year for the organization, which provides services such as parent coaching and speech and occupational therapy.

It was supposed to start in March, but the pandemic forced the event to be pushed back several months.

Items available for bidding include new and antique furniture.

"We are still continuing on,” said organizer Adam Pfingstl. “We are going to help not only create some sort of normalcy for everybody by still having the telethon, we're still going to try to bring the community together, all while raising money for pride so that we are able to continue our services to the community."

The auction and telethon will be spread over a four-day period.

The building will be open only to volunteers due to health guidelines.

People can submit bids on Huntingdon County PRIDE’s website now through Saturday.
