HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The number of positive cases of chronic wasting disease in deer was three times higher in 2017 than in 2016, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has announced.
Officials said 78 deer tested positive for CWD in 2017, compared TO 25 IN 2016. According to the Game Commission, the 78 positive tests came from <>><>>DMAs<<> 2 and 3.
As the number of cases has grown, the Game Commission has expanded its DMAs.
DMA 2 now contains all or parts of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Clearfield, Huntingdon and Somerset counties.
DMA 3 contains parts of Clearfield, Cambria, Indiana and Jefferson counties.
