Cat dies from BB gun wounds in Camp Hill; police search for perpetrator

The Camp Hill Police Department is investigating a case of animal cruelty that resulted in the death of a domestic cat named Poppy.

Police say that a suspect, whose identity is unknown, reportedly shot the cat with a BB gun multiple times on the 200 block of North 24th St.

Police say the abuse happened sometime overnight between Oct. 11 and 12.

The cat later died from its wounds.

The owner of the cat released a flyer that requests the public's assistance in finding the person responsible and offers a reward.

"We hope to prevent other animals and families from the same pain we've experienced," the flyer reads.

Authorities ask anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Camp Hill Police Department by calling (717) 737-1570.
