GLENDALE, Pa. -- The search for a missing man at Prince Gallitzin State Park was suspended Sunday evening and is expected to resume Monday.
Officials told 6 news search and rescue teams were called out just after midnight Friday after an unattended boat and car were found by a park ranger.
"Since then, that spurred a search on water and on land for the fisherman,β said park manager Jessica Lavelua on Sunday. "We were searching Friday night, and yesterday we spent the entire day searching land and water and we were not able to locate him. Today we resumed, we are basing our search mostly on water today."
Authorities shut down the Beaver Valley Marina boat launch area Sunday while Patton police, the Jackson-East Taylor dive team and local police K-9s actively searched the area.
A park ranger says crews focused their search on the water Sunday and now says the search is likely a recovery mission.
βAt this point it looks like it will most likely be a recovery... So we have dive teams in and different water rescue teams,β Lavelua said.
Officials have not released the identity of the missing man.
