CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) β In Centre County, not only are the number of COVID-19 cases increasing, but there's also been a sizeable jump recently in the death toll.
County and health care administrators continue to call for more coronavirus testing.
According to Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers, five county residents have died from COVID-19 since Thursday.

UPDATE | Jefferson Co., PA (WJAC) β Officials with the Punxsutawney Area School District confirmed to 6 News that the school board has officially accepted the resignation of co-principal Paul Hetrick.
District officials say Hetrick submitted his resignation on Monday and the school board voted to approve it on Tuesday.
Hetrick said in a statement that he was resigning from his position due to "personal struggles."
The school district confirmed that Hetrick is no longer an employee and a disciplinary hearing that was scheduled for next week has now been cancelled. Read More...
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) β An almost decade-old "missing persons" case in Blair County has been given new life this year thanks to the power of social media.
But family members of the local woman, who has been missing since 2012, are still hoping for closure.
