PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates have dismissed third base coach Joey Cora after five seasons at the post. The Pirates announced the move Saturday, less than a week after they finished 61-101 and last in the NL Central. “We would like to thank Joey for his passion for the job and his commitment in continuously helping our players grow as big leaguers,” Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said. “Even though this was a difficult decision, we wanted to make it now out of respect for Joey so that it allows him to immediately be able to pursue other opportunities. The Rathskeller, Spats Cafe to close Jan. 27

STATE COLLEGE - A week after it was announced that two landmark eateries in State College were closing, the owners have announced the official closing dates. The owners of The Rathskeller and Spats Cafe said their last day of business will be Jan. 27. Last week, it was revealed that both locations would be closed after the current owners and the building owners couldn't reach a lease agreement. The Rathskeller has been serving State College for more than 80 years, and Spats Cafe has been doing the same for 35 years. Read More...

Women arrested after child found locked in small room with no food, water: Police

STOREY COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV) — Two women from Nevada are behind bars on a number of charges after a child was found locked in a small room without necessities to live, police said. On Monday around 1 p.m., deputies were called to do a welfare check on a child at a residence in Gold Hill.
