BETHEL TOWNSHIP, PA. (WJAC) — Authorities with the Pennsylvania Game Commission say they are investigating the illegal killing of a Virginia opossum, in Armstrong County, after the animal was reportedly found hanging from a tree with a "noose" around its neck.
Investigators say the animal was found along Pine Hollow Road, in Ford City, Bethel Township, on Friday, Dec. 29.

JOHNSTOWN - Another private for-profit school is closing.
Friday was the last day of business for the Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology in Johnstown and Dubois.
Owner Dan Leaser says closing is the hardest thing he has ever had to do.
"They don't even have a job now, that's crazy," said Desiree Albany, who works nearby.
Both the Johnstown and Dubois locations will no longer be open for business.

JOHNSTOWN - Ron Springer, the executive director of the Cambria County Department of Emergency Services, retired Friday.
Cambria County solicitor William Barbin confirmed the retirement late Friday afternoon but when asked to elaborate, would say nothing more.
Cambria County President Commissioner Tom Chernisky also confirmed Springer’s retirement and added, “We thank him for his service to the county and we wish him well.”
