McDonald’s is fighting back against viral tweets and media reports that it said have exaggerated its price increases.
In a post on the company’s website Wednesday, McDonald’s U.S. President Joe Erlinger said reports suggesting the price of the average Big Mac has doubled since 2019 were false. McDonald’s said the average U.S. Big Mac was $4.39 in 2019 and now costs $5.29, a 20.5% increase.

PORTLAND, Ore. – An owl on the hunt in downtown Portland crashed into the glass wall of the Apple Store this week, leaving the bird dazed on the sidewalk after a nearly 20-foot fall, the Audubon Society of Portland said.
The Barred Owl is now in the care of Audubon staff, who remain hopeful it will make a full recovery.
Apple Store employees found the bird in the morning, and after giving it a barrier of chairs they called the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Read More...
