Veterans given free rides to medical centers

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Veterans in Johnstown can now get free rides to medical centers four days a week. Rides will be available to the Johnstown outpatient clinic and the Altoona Veterans Affairs medical center Monday through Thursday. Rides must be requested at least three days in advance, and medical appointments should be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Veterans must also be able to get in and out of vehicles unassisted to be eligible for rides through this service. DuBois City police officer dies in Jefferson County car crash

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A DuBois City and Sandy Township police officer was killed in a car crash in Jefferson County Monday night while off duty. Police said 33-year-old Patrick Straub died after the car he was driving was struck by another vehicle. According to police, 32-year-old Corey Williams of Reynoldsville lost control of his Jeep Cherokee on state Route 219 around 7:10 p.m. and struck Straub's Toyota. Straub and Williams was pronounced dead at the scene and two passengers in his vehicle were taken to Penn Highlands for minor injuries. Read More...

JOHNSTOWN -- Paranormal investigators are in Johnstown Saturday night checking out the old Grand Army of the Republic Hall downtown. The owners of the building have reported unknown activity over the years -- and now a crew from a reality TV show is here to investigate. They call themselves the Ghost Aholics Crew.
